The UK’s binge drinking culture features heavily in the book, and the author emphasises the pressure it puts on emergency services.
Dr Edwards is one of thousands of doctors with something of a love-hate relationship with the NHS. He takes pride in working for the NHS, the “greatest social policy this country has ever implemented,” and his passionate belief in it shines through. He does, however, have problems with recent changes within the institution and uses the book as an outlet
