Useful apps for surgical rotations: Oxford Handbook of Clinical Surgery
- By: Tom Lewis
The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Surgery is a useful resource because it contains essential information on conditions likely to be encountered during a surgical rotation. Although this app is based on the paper handbook, it has been supplemented by several useful features such as a search function, index, and hyperlinking. The app is split into several sections covering the major surgical specialties, which are further split into various conditions. Essential information on topics such as aetiology, pathophysiology, treatment, and complications are covered. Furthermore there is a useful bibliography for further reading. Although this app is not cheap, it contains a wealth of concise, useful clinical information that is ideal for medical students.
Most useful for: coverage of all essential information related to surgery in a concise searchable format.
