Nottingham University has the top scoring student sexual health services in the UK, according to a survey conducted by an online private medical consultation service. Cardiff University was at the bottom of the table.
Sexual health services in all 24 of the Russell Group universities, which includes King’s College London, Bristol, and Southampton University, were audited in February.
Where the service is located on campus, access to contraceptives, how sexual assault is dealt with, and how easy the service’s website is to use were among the criteria used to assess the universities’ facilities.
The initiative was inspired by a US project rolled out last year. Results from the US survey drove improvements to services. The UK findings are expected to do the same.
