News in brief: July 2014:
Over a third of the 235 applicants on the reserve list for the UK foundation programme have been allocated to schools for August 2014.
The UK Foundation Programme Office has announced that the first 97 applicants on the reserve list were allocated at the end of last month.
In October last year it confirmed that there were more applicants to the foundation programme starting in August 2014 than there were places available. In March 235 applicants were placed on a reserve list to be allocated in batches on set dates, as vacancies arose because of applicants failing their final examinations or withdrawing for other reasons.
A total of 133 applicants remain on the reserve list for allocation over the coming months, and five have withdrawn since the original allocation. The second batch allocation date is scheduled for 26 June.
