Big Brother for medics
Five medical students from Dundee University spent four days in November living, eating, and sleeping at the Edinburgh branch of IKEA, in a Big Brother style weekend, to be televised on Channel 5 this month.
The students, along with four other groups, were expected to take part in various tasks for the entertainment of the customers during their stay. These included a Swedish meatball eating contest, judging an ABBA dancing contest, a fancy dress dinner, and taking part in a flatpack challenge where teams had to build IKEA furniture in a race against the clock.
The event was part of the first birthday celebrations for the Scottish branch of the Swedish furni- ture store.
