Medical students infected by SARS virus: The potentially fatal SARS illness has so far infected 16 medical students in Hong Kong. One medical student is reported to have contracted the infection in Canada. In Canada, thousands of people have been quarantined--mainly medical staff--who have come into contact with SARS patients. All of the medical students infected in Hong Kong are expected to make a full recovery.
Higher education graduates are healthier: Higher education graduates are healthier, more tolerant, and have a higher sense of wellbeing, according to a study commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England. The study revealed that, on average, graduates have a lower body mass index, are less likely to smoke, and supply a better educational environment for their children. They are also more likely to engage in social and political activities and cost society less money.
