When should we share our experience?
By the time we get to medical school we are bound to have encountered a few personal problems of our own. The achievement of living 18 years or more doesnt come without accruing a few life experiences.
Im a mature student, and at the age of 29 have collected a fair few experiences myself. In particular Ive had a relapsing and remitting course of anorexia since I was 13. When I joined medical school I was lucky to have a superb support system, and I was open and honest with the people reviewing my application. To my relief, this honesty was rewarded. Once my doctors had verified I was stable and could withstand the gruelling course, I was met with nothing but help and encouragement. I am now in my final year.
Thankfully, I can recognise the consequences for my career should things get out of control again, and I
