If you are trying to improve your diagnostic skills, a good way of doing this is by using all the internet has to offer. Karolinska Institute's www.mic.ki.se/MEDIMAGES gives you an idea about the range of images on the web. It contains links to other pages and sites offering biomedically related multimedia material—mostly photos and illustrations. The site reminds surfers that some of the pictures are strictly copyrighted and can be used only for academic purpose unless you have explicit permission from the owner.
The Bristol Biomedical Image archive (www.brisbio.ac.uk) displays medical, dental, and veterinary images donated by academics across the world. Thumbnail images can be freely browsed, but if you want to see or download larger images you have to register. The archive is also accompanied by a guide website (www.brisbio.ac.uk/bblt) which shows, with examples, how the images can be used for academic purpose.
