Medics worldwide: news and opportunities from the IFMSA
- By: Jana Kammeyer
The IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students' Associations) wants to achieve its goal of improving global health by raising awareness of health related issues among its members and other medical students. Hundreds of medical students worldwide will join our upcoming General Assembly meeting focusing on the first millennium development goal: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. This international event will contribute to, and organise, various global health campaigns, particularly focusing on poverty and hunger eradication. The General Assembly will be held in Pucon, Chile, 1-7 March. Various workshops are planned before the conference in Santiago, Chile, 25-28 February (see www.ifmsa.org/meetings).
The IFMSA is also working on a thematic magazine that will focus on issues surrounding poverty and hunger.
