Firstly, you have to do your postgraduate degree in sports medicine. I think it is likely that when they decide what the rules are for the new faculty you'll require membership of the Royal College of Physicians or the Royal College of Surgeons. Then the MSc in sports science will be a number two degree.
You also need to get yourself attached to a team because that's where things happen. Team medicine is an unusual specialty and if you can start to understand the psychology of sports people, which is half the balance, you learn how to manage their injuries and get them better.
