The National Center for Infectious Disease is a branch of the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov/ncidod). Its website is informative, with unique areas of specialty interest, such as arctic investigations, bioterrorism preparedness, global migration, and quarantine. The site has a complete infectious disease index, which you can search by name—for example, “cholera,” or by topic—for example, “water related diseases.” The site has a news section and a particularly useful features section, which details global strategies for preventing disease.
