David Ward is club doctor for London Wasps Rugby Club as well as a GP. Seema Haider and Nicholas Ramscar catch up with him
I did all my training in Australia, and I worked for a few years, but I had no idea what I wanted to do so I came to England as a locum doctor and to see the world. I went back to Australia for my GP training and moved to England permanently after that. Since then I've worked full time as a GP for the last 10 years.
I ran into a bit of luck in that my GP partner has been the team doctor for the London Wasps for the past 30 years, and so it was all about being in the right place at the right time because there's no obvious career path for sports medicine here.
