Frances Dixon, a first year student at Imperial College in London, blogs about her first weeks at medical school. From attending a black tie ball to floating down the Thames in fancy dress, the parties are numerous, and she's working hard as well.
Talking about her first cadaveric dissection she was not fazed: “I didn't realise just how packed in everything is and how it is all secured there by membranes. It just fits together so perfectly and really made me appreciate what an amazing thing the human body is.” The pace of the course has required adjustment: “having five lectures in a day can be really draining mentally.”
Her halls are in South Kensington, one of the most expensive parts of London and she has not found it the easiest place to survive on a student budget. “Oh well,
